Although my favourite of the entries, democracy sometimes plots against you and this unique design from Ragnar really shows off how far humans have come from building sylos on the ground to...sylos in space. Regardless, the design as said is unique and definitely well textured. Its stance as a miner as well will make sure it is prominently seen, not that you'll be missing this as it is so deftly obvious. Not to mention when you look over it, you'll think "oh, cool".

Typical Federation policy has this completely undefended and as such completely replaces the job of the old planetary miner, which frankly got boring to look at. I also like how these textures give it that real industry effect that makes it look as if it is actually being used for something useful. The build button and wireframe look great and altogether, it's just a great add-on of a station. Just goes to show, snazzy looks do get you far.

Federation Orbital Mining Station
V1.0

As with any modification to the game SOD wise, it won't work online unless everyone has it I think.

Sick of seeing that old mining station orbitting your planets sucking them dry? Want to see something a bit more industrial, as if it was born to mine? Well here I present, the Replacement Orbital Mining Station.

This station belongs to the Federation, and functions exactly the same way as the previous. Just looks nicer in my opinion.

This download contains:
Buildbutton
Wireframe
SOD
ODF
Textures

(Sorry no Borg textures, I haven't a clue how to do them lol)

Good thing is, unless you really want to, no techtree editing is required =]

*** Installation Instructions ***

1. Copy the TGA files (buildbutton, wireframe and textures) to your Textures/RGB folder. Let it overwrite any existing files (there should only be one overwritten file, gbforbital I think).
2. Copy the SOD file to the SOD folder and the ODF file to the ODF/Stations folder. Let it overwrite the existing one or else the station will not work properly, or at all.

3. Open gui_global, which is located in the Sprites folder. Find these lines and delete them:

forbitalw1 fedwireframe07 0 0 48 48
forbitalw2 fedwireframe07 48 0 48 48
forbitalw3 fedwireframe07 96 0 48 48
forbitalw4 fedwireframe07 144 0 48 48
forbitalw5 fedwireframe07 192 0 48 48

In the space left copy these lines:

forbitalw1 forbitalwf 160 0 80 80
forbitalw2 forbitalwf 0 80 80 80
forbitalw3 forbitalwf 80 80 80 80
forbitalw4 forbitalwf 80 0 80 80
forbitalw5 forbitalwf 0 0 80 80

And that should do it. Enjoy. Any problems with this then you can either post a comment below or send me an e-mail and I'll be happy to help you =]

Any material in this package must not be used in any other mod or program without my permission. If you can't get me, credit at least will do. But I would like you actually attempt to contact me =]
