When I opened this, I expected to see some redo of the Akira class, but to my suprise, it was nothing of the sort. Imagine there's a ship that looks like the NX-01 only with parts from the galaxy class, or you could just look at the screenshot. Biggrin It's a pretty mutlipurpose vessel so it's good for any fleet.

the textures are by DAWN. the textures were way too awsome not

If you enlarge the screen shot and look really close you can see the registery number NCC-1701-D. Oh well, still rocks. :thumbsup:

i made this cuz i hate the origional akira. its just so...i dunno...cruddy. unballanced design. god i hate it. besides, i dont think the origional akira could do more than crash well.

Ebert and Roeper give it 8/10. I love the overall design and concept but the texture could be slightly better-but only just BARELY. I definitely like it. A definite and well earned 8/10. PS: Enterprise's season premier is on this friday (Canadian Time), did that perhaps subconciously affect your design?

no, but i will watch it. enterprise is awsome. i just really hated the origional akira... a lot. figured the fed needed some more traditional looking ships. besides, the nx looks a bit like the akira, only not crappy.

Crappy! How dare you! You insult one of the most venerated and dangerous vessels in all of the Federation. I suppose the fact that the design was spawned from the NX class won't change your mind, will it? PS: What I meant by working on the texture was that you have NCC-1701-D on the Primary Hull. That could be changed to something else could it not? Maybe USS Akira NCC-3486-A?

the akira was designed before the new enterprise show was even concieved. as the nx class. they are similar i admit, but the nx class is waaaaay better. the nx must be one of the best designs out there. but the akira is a molestation of it. and there is a version 2 coming out and version 3, all better cuz i realized i could rectify many things. such as the enterprise regestry (sorry again i made this late at night, gimmie a break). i guess what i dont like about the akira is the deflecter. not WHERE it is but just the way it looks. but te nacels i do like. and come to think of it, the saucer section kinda looks unballanced,...offbeat. the version 2 and 3 are already submitted, just wait for them to get posted. bug the site managers if you want it that bad. ps, the 1701-D *****es me off to. my bad. thanks for the textures dawn, hope yiou dont mind me tweaking it. if you wanna tweak my stuff go ahead. far be it for me to get in the way of creativity.

...sure the nx shows up first in the timeline, but as far as the shows go, the akira showed up way before the nx.



also, why dont we have another one of those contests. like the best akira variant, or cruiser class variant? best steamruner, best intrepid variant. just a thought. ive already submitted all my akira variantrs and steamrunner variants. i like feed back too
