Tempast Class
Complementary to the Nebula Class, think of this as a "quicker" variant with an extra punch in weaponary. It does seem as if it was based off from a cross between the Nebula and New Orleans which is something I rather like. What makes this different to the other version is that this is now in SOD format, meaning it can go straight into game.
Whilst the textures are stock (which might cause a pain to some of you but I personally don't mind as the Galaxy class textures were some of the best from the stock game), the model is definitely refreshing and most certainly worthy of adding to your many Federation shipyards, or perhaps even to the graveyard scene in a Wolf 359 map? Whatever, the options with this ship are varied, so make good use of it!
HMS Tempast v2.0
Description:
The HMS Tempast Class is a slightly better armed science Vessel class, then that of the nebular class.
It was brought into service to become the eyes and ears of the Federation, with its extremely powerful sensors. and make full use of its weapons pod!
Installation:
- Add the ftempast.odf to the /odf/ships folder
- Add the ftempast.sod to the /sod folder
- Add the fspecialA.tga, fspecialB.tga and gbtempast to the /textures/rgb folder
- Add the ftempast.bmp to /bitmaps/AdmiralsLog/ShipImages folder
- Add the following lines to sprites/gui_global.spr
@reference=64
@tmaterial=interface
b_ftempast gbtempast 0 0 64 64
(if you would like a white blob where the wireframe should be instead of nothing that add this line)
@reference=256
kshuttlew1 gbkshuttle 0 0 128 128
- Add the following line to techtree/tech1.tt and fulltech
ftempast.odf 0
- add the following line to odf/stations/fyard2.odf
buildItemX = "ftempast"
remember to replace X with the next number in the sequence.

I agree, this is a good addition to the Federation Fleet. This ship looks faster and the best of all, it based on my favourite ship: the Nebula Class.
