Apparently this is a new Sabre class. This is NOT the same model as the existing class, so don't expect it to look the same. Also, the complete absence of a readme seems to indicate this is a first attempt. I'm assuming this is the reason why no credits are offered, and I hope I'm right. In addition to not sending a readme or credits, the build button, the wireframe, and the admiral's log pic are all absent. So some modding experience will be required.

As to the model itself.... ignore the registry and accept that the textures look a little.... angular for a Starfleet vessel, and the design itself isn't that bad. The author compared it in the description (which I've copied AS the readme below) to "great ships like the Century and Valiant". This makes a lot of sense, especially considering the Sabre itself filled some other obsolete vessel's role in the fleet, so it too would eventually need an upgrade.

The author promises a full 1.0 version in a couple weeks' time. Perhaps someone from the community might want to give captainmacgyver a few tips and pointers about what to do next with this promising work in progress.

I decided the good ol' saber class needed to be updated...you know, with the release of great ships like the century and valiant. I figure I'd try to give the saber a fighting shot.

this is the 0.9 release. I'm waiting a week to wrap up anything i may have missed and not noticed right away. Soon youll have the full 1.0 finished. Use it in whatever mod you like, but i would suggest waiting the week for the full 1.0, and to give credit.

also, the odf is unbalanced. rebalance as you deem fit ppl!

hardpoints 1-10 are each individual phaserbanks (there are 10. you dont have to use em all, but its set to use 2 at a time as is)

11 and 12 are the 2 foward torps, and 13 is the spare located in the dish.

all weapons already incorporated in the ship's odf are all saber class weapons, except the point defense lazer.

This is a Sabre class? No offense but I think the concept would've came out better if you've labeled this an advance marine transport ship or something. The ship looks great though, well done. :thumbsup:

Looks like a Saber Mk II. It has the same general hull configuration, even though the ship itself is much altered.

he didnt compare it with the vailant and century, he just said that because this ships came out, he thought the sabre would be in need of an upgrade.


for the model it self: really good work. maybe the colors are a little bit off. but I dont miss Wf, BB and such - I just replace my old saber with this one.

I like it, but it looks more like something from Star Wars than Star Trek.

Hmm... Nice concept you've got there, but I reckon you should try a MkII witha smoother hull and some blue parts on the nacelles.

advice taken into account. tomorrow you have saber v2. it will be released with teh same stats as teh original saber has in its 1st odf. teh second odf will bring it up to a galaxy class.


teh 3rd package will include a few variations (my own kit bashes) that are honorable mentions to compliment teh final version.


I hope you enjoyed me mr's-spellzings the word "the" in the readme up to now. I've gotten bored wit that joke so I'll stop wtih that joke as of right now.
