You've seen her in the forums, now SciFiFan gives us the Bonaventure class starship for A2. First seen in the "Ships of the Line" calendar, the Bonaventure class is one of the best-known original-series era designs to be first seen in recent years. The NX influence is clear, as is the similarities in hybrid saucer/stardrive designs to pre-existing descendants (and THAT only makes sense in Star Trek) like the Akira and Norway.

Worth a download.

Cool

The follwing transmission is classified.

Starfleet Command, May 2178.

With the aging NX class and the losses suffered in the Romulan-Earth war, it is time for Starfleet to expand the fleet. With the
development of the new warp seven engines, a new platform must be established. My propsal for a direct replacement to the NX class
is designated "Bonaventure" meaning Good The Bonaventure class is more than twice the size of the old NX class with a crew of 270 personel and 18 officers.
It is truely a ship of the Federation. Tractor beam provided by the Vulcans, Shields provided by the Andorians, and weapon upgrades
provided by the Tellarites, among other inovations provided by all member worlds.

End Transmission.

Note from the original designer for the "Ship of the Line" calender and book.
These are the comments made by the artist, Meni: "Constructed some 60 years before Captain Kirk's famous USS Enterprise,
the NCC-1000 Bonaventure Class cruiser was the first official starship to be used by the newly formed United Federation of Planets.
Mike Okuda suggested that name because an episode of the animated Star Trek series suggested that the first warp powered ship was the Bonaventure.

"The design embodies elements of both the NX-01 Enterprise that precede it, and the Constitution class USS Enterprise that followed it."

Not really a fan of the design but the modelling and texturing is solid work. 9/10

I always loved the Bonaventure design, nice to see one for A2. Oh and thanks for the note about helping with the joints, I was only too happy to help out. ;-)

I also included an Admirals pic though I forgot to include it in the read me. I did the pic after I wrote the read me and forgot to enter it.
