Galor Class Galor Class

It's undisputable that Dan1025 has been busy lately. Between all the Cardassian ships he's turned out and the Vulcan full race mod he recently completed, there's been quite a bit of new content lately with Dan's name on it. It's not just in name alone that you can tell it's his: everything Dan makes for A2 has a special awesomeness in terms of quality.

Case in point: this Galor class starship model, complete with Borg textures and all the things you'd want (wireframe, build button and Admirals Log pic are all included). But what makes this arguably Dan's best work to date on a Cardassian ship is the poly count. This vessel comes in at just under 750 poly. Now, keep in mind that it's typical for a heavy cruiser such as would usually match a Galor in firepower to have well over 1500 poly, if not more. In fact, certain cruisers out there have as many poly as three of these Galor class warships. And that's the beauty of what Dan's been doing: none of these Cardie vessels are for the high-performance top-end computer types. They're usable in-game by any given A2 modder.

Now that's some awesome quality. Download this one today and see for yourself.

Cool

Continuing my line of replacement Cardassian ships I present the new Galor Class, made by converting Zorgs Galor Class. The model has 4 textures and a poly count of 748.

This will act as a replacement for your Galor Class (cbattle).

Included in this mod are:

SOD file
Ship textures
Borg textures
Ship ODF
AdmiralsLog picture
Buildbutton
Wireframe

****************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Installation Instructions:

1. Place "cbattle.sod" into the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/SOD folder.
2. Place all files found in the RGB folder into the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/Textures/RGB folder.
3. Place "cbattle.odf" into the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/odf/ships folder.
4. Place the "cbattle.bmp" file found in the ShipImages folder into the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/bitmaps/AdmiralsLog/ShipImages folder.

(Ensuring you click "Yes" when the computer asks if you'd like to replace the older files).

5. Find the file named "gui_global.spr" found in the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/Sprites folder and open it (use notepad).

Search for where it says:

"Cardassian Wireframes"

and delete the entry for cbattle

now find where it says:

"@reference=64"

(if "@reference=64" isn't in your Cardassian Wireframes section you'll need to add it at the end of the section).

and add:

cbattlew1 WFcbattle 0 0 64 64
cbattlew2 WFcbattle 0 0 64 64
cbattlew3 WFcbattle 0 0 64 64
cbattlew4 WFcbattle 0 0 64 64
cbattlew5 WFcbattle 0 0 64 64

Save and close the file.

You know, I was thinking of canning all of the stock spoonhead ships and replacing them with original ships, as the stock ships are so lame.

Forget that.

These are beautiful, and I think Maddoc needs to send an employment offer your way asap, Dan. Truly gorgeous work! 10/10 for the whole cardie fleet!

Thanks everyone, glad you like the mod :-)

Jetfreak - I've emailed the new ones to you :-)

undedavenger - Yeah I started these because I didn't want to have to get rid of stock designs that were well designed, just badly executed. Glad you like them :-)

Hello:

This is a very well done mod, and low-poly to keep all PCs happy Rock

A 10/10, and now to look forward to my favourite one, the Keldon :D
