Station tractor beam used for holding enemy ships in place and disabling there Engines and is a good idea if you have limted weapons and you can use it on the enemy to keep it place untill more powerful ships arrive.

didnt say it wasnt kindda makes sense as tractor beams were shown to do that sortta thing at times
