Romulan Armed Freighter Romulan Armed Freighter

Completing the set for Firestorm603's .ODF modding of your stock freighters, the Romulan freighter now bears weapons.

Just as a note for future reference, Firestorm603, perhaps you should bundle these mods together as a single "armed freighters!" release in future.

Cool

Resources are key to the success of an operation. Without them, your battle
will end quickly. If you do not have defences near your supply lines, it is
almost certain your freighters will be destroyed. Not anymore.
Each race has come up with the same conclusion, freighters are too
much of an easy and undefended target. This must change.
Now their freighters are capable of defending themselves, and the
resources they're mining with weapons and better shield and hull strength.

Installation.

1. Make a copy of the appropriate freighter. (E.G. "kfreight")

2. Replace the freighter with mine in the ODF directory.

Done.

If it screws up the game, replace it with your copy.

Please ask permission if you want to use this mod in one of your own.

Enjoy and thanks again for downloading. Firestorm603.

do we really need this? i really dont want to discourage you, firestorm603. but if we put every little odf mod here this site would become totaly confusing. now that you had your share, how about going one step futher and start modelling? please keep up your contributions, but i would love to see something else than odf mods.

Hey ameba, if I could get milk shape to actually work I would have posted some models by now, but since I can't, this is the best I can do.

I am in the same boat as Firestorm, MOD-wise.

All mods are good but not all mods are worth posting. Mods like these are useful to learn the art of modding...most all of us start there. As we learn, we progress to making ships. Milkshape works, it just requires you to know a little bit about 3D modeling and have a little patience. A logical progrsssion after odf mods would be to try your hand at kitbashing. After that try making your own ship or station from someone's design. Once you have mastered this, then you can move on to the hardest aspect (IMHO) and that's texturing. Above all else, have fun with it all and continue to challenge your minds.

AaahhHh!! so thats the order in how it should go, freak! and to think all this time I thought I was getting dumber by trying to grasp texturing first above all else :D

I started of texturing first, and I finished off with AI modding. There is no set way that everybody has to go. :-)

We do have a section just for ODF files, so I don't think there is any huge danger of the site becoming unusable because you can't find anything. :-)

I don't approve useless mods for download. Firestorm603 can find his own place in this community, just like I did. (Even if my only reason for being here lately is to approve new mods....)

When I say milk shape doesn't work, I mean everytime I start it I get a msg sayin "Milk Shape has stopped working", not once have I actually got into the program, trust me, if I could get it working, i'd have models up here now instead of useless ODF mods. 8)

Recommend that you post your Milkshape problem over at their forums and see if they can help ypu get it working
