Slightly Better Strings By thunderfoot006

I've always thought the ToolTips which appear when the cursor rolls over an object were clumsy. I've also wondered why the only Hero Ships which have a name are Enterprise-E and Captain Bekta's QelRah. The Tooltips are eyecandy, plainly and aren't needed. Yet they jar me out of the game experience because they are so badly written. I mean really, what more proof do we need the folks at Mad Doc never watched one episode of Star Trek?

That is a philisophical question and not to be answered easily or here. Enclosed in this mod is a reworked Dynamic Strings file and stock odfs for All the HeroShips. The odfs have my choice of names for Martok's ship and the Queen's Diamond. If you don't like them, change them. The reworded strings file is intended to reflect more of the race background for each ship or station. Not all of them have been changed, because not all of them needed to be. The screenies are just a sample. Take a look and see what's in there before you play.

To Install the new strings

1) Copy the current Dynamic Localized Strings file from your A2 folder and place it somewhere on the desktop case you do not like this mod.

2) Place the Dynamic Localized Strings file found here in the A2 folder.

That's it! You are done!

To Give Names to ALL the HeroShips

1) Copy the following Ship odfs from the Armada2/ODFs/Ships folder and place the copies them somewhere on the desktop case you do not like this mod.

2) Place the odf files found here in the Armada2/ODFs/Ships folder. These are the stock odfs so any modifications you've made will be overwritten.

As an alternate, to avoid having to recreate your modded HeroShip, cut and paste the relevant lines into your current odf. The text document named Cut and Paste is set up for you to do this.

That's it! You are done!

Potential Problems
This mod has been tested only within the SP Campaign and Instant Action vs. the 'puter. I do not know if it will work in online Multiplayer.
