This game is heavily inspired by the Epyx title 'Gateway to Apshai'.First let me state, it is not as detailed as the original, but it's also not asfrustrating, so hopefully people who find RPG's too complicated might enjoy this. It's intentionally old school, in line with the spirit of the competition it was written for.Destroy all the monsters in the 9 dungeons of Apshai

Welcome traveler.....Do you remember these old golden days of D&D games? Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Wizardry, Land of Lore and others? I do. And I must say that I enjoyed these games. It wasn't about mega-super-3D-engines with 70fps-frame-rates, but it was mainly about atmosphere, it was hard to get through and there was great ideas behind. And that's the point of this project. To create game system where some people can create D&D games and other people can play them.We don't...

Rogue is a dungeon crawling video game first developed by Michael Toy and Glenn Wichman around 1980. It was a favorite on college Unix systems in the early to mid-1980s, in part due to the procedural generation of game content. Rogue popularized dungeon crawling as a video game trope, leading others to develop a class of derivatives known collectively as "roguelikes".

"Abaddon" is a typical RPG in console style. But unlike most RPGs it doesn't have a fantasy or medieval background, but is settled in a post-apocalyptic world (you can compare it with "Wasteland" or "Fallout"). The game is suitable for genre beginners because it is quite linear (there are no subquests) and just a few different weapons, items and skills. The graphics are simple, the music is very atmospheric and controlling works fine with a gamepad (of course you...

The Spirit Engine is a great mix between action, side-scroller and role playing game. You can choose from various characters in the beginning of the game (gets more important during later levels) and have the opportunity to upgrade these characters by buying new armor, weapons and amulets. You can also learn a great variety of spells which you can use during fights. Sometimes it's really hard to find the right spell combination to win a hard fight and you will die several times before you...

Ahriman's Prophecy is one of the best console style role playing games ever made with the RPGmaker engine. Graphics, music and sounds are well made and the world you have to explore is really huge. Of course there is lots of fighting and some (senseless) running around to level up before the next big quest, but that's part of the concept (and of the genre) and it never gets boring. The story is interesting (but not without clichés) and very epic. You start as a young teenage girl in a small...

Dink Smallwood is a pig farmer who wishes to become a great warrior. The game takes you through lots of different screens, and lots of different actions and missions. The game might not be huge, but it is big enough for you to use a good many hours on completing it. Dink Smallwood was originally a commercial game but was released as freeware 2 years later. That move gave a lot of gamers a negative attitude towards it - mostly from the ones that paid money for it back when it was commercial. You...
